Maintenance is terrible front desk is unprofessional leasing office is hit or misssubmitted by Stephanie Y. - |Recommended: YesMaintenance When we moved in, one of the burners weren't working,and the maintenance staff told us we needed to connect the burners ourselves. It's ridiculous that we were expected to do that ourselves. When we had issues with our AC, we were told to turn it on - as if we hadn't tried that already. Then, we were told the AC wasn't working because we had a TV in the living room. Where else is a TV supposed to go We had to go and ask the leasing office to step in before they finally got someone to fix the AC. It was almost 80 degrees in our apartment for over a month in July in DC. It was practically uninhabitable. Then, when our freezer kept opening on it's own, we were told it was because we had too much stuff in the freezer. I just gave up since it wasn't worth fixing something when we were leaving and it's a struggle every time we wanted to get something done when it came to maintenance. Front desk They were incredibly unhelpful and unprofessional in almost every encounter. When we needed to pick up a package, they were highly disorganized and never knew where something was. When we were moving out, we needed the loading dock. I told the front desk I needed it opened since our truck was there, and he told me to go to it. I get there, and the dock wasn't open. I didn't know how to open a loading dock. I only use one when I move in or move out of an apartment, so I had no idea how to operate the one in the apartment. We had to go around the block with the truck while I checked with the front desk. He told me I could open it myself, and I had to figure out how to open it myself. It's ridiculous that this isn't something the front desk was willing to help with. I avoided interactions with the front desk whenever possible because they were never able to answer a question in a timely manner. Leasing office Some of the staff have been very helpful, especially the two young men who helped us rent the apartment at the very begining and the manager who helped us get our AC fixed. Ed was also great as we were trying to get our lease change processed when the woman helping us was not helpful. The rest of the staff have been rude and unhelpful. I saw a few people in the leasing office a few weeks ago and wanted to stop by and ask what the hours for the leasing office was. The door was locked, so I knocked, and one of the women in the office told me I couldn't go in because they were closed. She didn't even come to the door to let me know, she just yelled it from inside the office. It's unprofessional to yell at someone in the workplace. All I wanted to ask was when the office would open the next morning. When we were trying to get the lease transfer processed, we worked with a woman in the office. We went in once to turn in paperwork, and she was very rude and unprofessional. We asked what we needed to give her, and she just stood there looking at us. Then, she handed us a few sheets of paper before going back to her work and not answering any questions. Ed stepped in and asked if we needed anything clarified when we continued to stand there looking confused. Pros sound insulation is great given how many parties are held in the building, and the location is incredible.

The location is awesome, the stuff, the Gym I wish we have more space at the roof, more grills, and better walls between apartments because unfortunately you can hear your neighbors when they are really noise. Other than that is a perfect place to live.

The quality is average, but for the affordable price and location it makes it very well worth it. I like the periodic events the building hosts to bring people together and give out free food and drinks. Could be better with handling packages- apparently the building does not accept USPS packages so this causes issues.

We really like it here - and we are over 50 submitted by Ann D. - |Recommended: YesLove being in the center of everything, but quiet enough location and building to hear yourself think when inside. Nice people who quiet down if asked, lots of friendly conversation in halls and elevators, and we love being the older folks still working who hang out with young ideas and spirits. Love the pet-friendly atmosphere, too. Staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and questions get answered quickly and correctly. We will be here several years and know we won't need to move.
Great Property, Friendly Community, Terrible Staffsubmitted by Jason L. - |Recommended: YesThe vibe of the Meridian is young - like right out of college young - which makes it a fun environment to live in over the summer. The workout facility is very nice, and the rooftop grill areas are also a nice amenity. I love the building and property, however the staff is not so great. When applying to Meridian, I was consistently warned about how bad the leasing property management office was. Well, I could not believe how bad it truly is. They are terrible at communication when applying, as well as when residing in the building. Their apathy towards problems i.e. leaks due to pipes bursting, bikes being stolen out of THEIR parking garage, etc. is abysmal. I will say - the front desk staff George and Kevin are extremely friendly and helpful. As is George and his maintenance staff. It really just is the leasing office that sucks.
