Okay place to live, in the middle of DC|Recommended: YesIt's an okay place to move to, when you first move to DC. It is central to everything.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience! We are so happy to hear that you enjoy calling the Meridian at Gallery Place home! Sincerely, Ashleigh N.
Lack of service orientation|Recommended: NoI recently went to the leasing office to obtain a new key fob since the one I was issued over a year ago has started to fall apart. I was quite disappointed when the staffer chearfully informed me that it would be 100 to replace it. While the building is nice, I am less than impressed with this nickel and dime mentality I've experienced at this property.
Hi Howard, Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We are disappointed to hear that your recent experience at our community has been less than pleasant. If a key fob is damaged normally we charge a fee to replace it, however if a key fob stops working we are happy to replace it at no additional cost. Our property manager would like the opportunity to speak with you further. Please contact him at 202-326-0000 at your earliest opportunity. We look forward to speaking with you soon! Sincerely, Ashleigh N.
MaGP Acceptable |Recommended: YesThe staff are sometimes tentative, but overall they perform well. Ed, in particular, has hospitality in his blood and will jump at the chance to please a tenant. The other staff are not necessarily high achievers but not slouches by any stretch. The building is actively maintained, and the hallways common areas always seem to have staff attending to them. No complaints. A pleasant, clean environment. I haven't had an apartment-repair request yet, so I have no insight to their responsiveness. The renters are predominantly well-behaved twenty-somethings, which makes for a bustling atmosphere without noise. Passing polite, well-dressed, energized, focused young adults in the hallways every day is quite nice. The tenants enhance the MaGP the most, setting the tone as a very nice place to live.
Maintenance is terrible front desk is unprofessional leasing office is hit or miss|Recommended: YesMaintenance When we moved in, one of the burners weren't working, and the maintenance staff told us we needed to connect the burners ourselves. It's ridiculous that we were expected to do that ourselves. When we had issues with our AC, we were told to turn it on - as if we hadn't tried that already. Then, we were told the AC wasn't working because we had a TV in the living room. Where else is a TV supposed to go We had to go and ask the leasing office to step in before they finally got someone to fix the AC. It was almost 80 degrees in our apartment for over a month in July in DC. It was practically uninhabitable. Then, when our freezer kept opening on it's own, we were told it was because we had too much stuff in the freezer. I just gave up since it wasn't worth fixing something when we were leaving and it's a struggle every time we wanted to get something done when it came to maintenance. Front desk They were incredibly unhelpful and unprofessional in almost every encounter. When we needed to pick up a package, they were highly disorganized and never knew where something was. When we were moving out, we needed the loading dock. I told the front desk I needed it opened since our truck was there, and he told me to go to it. I get there, and the dock wasn't open. I didn't know how to open a loading dock. I only use one when I move in or move out of an apartment, so I had no idea how to operate the one in the apartment. We had to go around the block with the truck while I checked with the front desk. He told me I could open it myself, and I had to figure out how to open it myself. It's ridiculous that this isn't something the front desk was willing to help with. I avoided interactions with the front desk whenever possible because they were never able to answer a question in a timely manner. Leasing office Some of the staff have been very helpful, especially the two young men who helped us rent the apartment at the very begining and the manager who helped us get our AC fixed. Ed was also great as we were trying to get our lease change processed when the woman helping us was not helpful. The rest of the staff have been rude and unhelpful. I saw a few people in the leasing office a few weeks ago and wanted to stop by and ask what the hours for the leasing office was. The door was locked, so I knocked, and one of the women in the office told me I couldn't go in because they were closed. She didn't even come to the door to let me know, she just yelled it from inside the office. It's unprofessional to yell at someone in the workplace. All I wanted to ask was when the office would open the next morning. When we were trying to get the lease transfer processed, we worked with a woman in the office. We went in once to turn in paperwork, and she was very rude and unprofessional. We asked what we needed to give her, and she just stood there looking at us. Then, she handed us a few sheets of paper before going back to her work and not answering any questions. Ed stepped in and asked if we needed anything clarified when we continued to stand there looking confused. Pros sound insulation is great given how many parties are held in the building, and the location is incredible.
Awesome place to leave|Recommended: YesI would say living at Meridian Gallery Place is by far my better experience living in DC. The location is awesome, the stuff, the Gym I wish we have more space at the roof, more grills, and better walls between apartments because unfortunately you can hear your neighbors when they are really noise. Other than that is a perfect place to live.
Great Location, Friendly Staff|Recommended: YesI love it. Great Location and so many awesome amenities
Classy Facility for Young Adults|Recommended: YesIt's the ideal situation for young professionals looking for a quality residence at an affordable price. Would definitely recommend.

Great building, unbeatable location|Recommended: YesGreat amenities, great community, great units
Nice place to live |Recommended: YesI've only lived here two weeks, but I love the location and the maintenance staff has been very helpful we when request work orders.
Nice|Recommended: YesGreat location
Like a Nice Georgetown Law Dorm |Recommended: YesMy young neighbors get rowdy and loud on the weekends and one unit is always in a cloud of pot smoke, but my unit is fine. It's safe and comfortable.
Good for young professionals out of college trying to save up on a budget|Recommended: YesThis is a good place for young professionals on a budget to live in for a first apartment. The quality is average, but for the affordable price and location it makes it very well worth it. I like the periodic events the building hosts to bring people together and give out free food and drinks. Could be better with handling packages- apparently the building does not accept USPS packages so this causes issues.
Good building|Recommended: YesAmenities are great, but leasing office can be slow and you have to be proactive about going in when you have questions. Maintenance is also great and front desk people are nice.

Staff|Recommended: YesMove in process and setting up accounts was unnecessarily difficult. Once lease signed any questions for staff felt like I was an inconvenience.
